After many hardships Odysseus faced, he landed onto the island of Aeaea. Eurylochus then goes off to scout half the island with some men, while Odysseus Scouts the other half with the other men. Eurylochus and his men stumble upon the home of the powerful enchantress, Circe. while all the men in his group enter the threshold, Eurylochus stays outside , because he worried it was some sort of trap. Eurylochus was right, all the men who entered Circe's home were turned into pigs! Once Eurylochus saw the sorcery, he quickly ran to Odysseus and tells him of the shocking news. Odysseus then rushes to Circe's threshold. While on the way there, Hermes stops him and gives him a plant that shields Odysseus from Circe's powers. Odysseus and Circe then meet up. Circe, acknowledging that she could not be able to duel against Odysseus, replenishes the men with food and wine. Eventuallly the men begin to beg her to go back home. She allows them to leave as long as Odysseus goes to the land of the dead and seek the wisdom of Teiresias, an blind prophet.
